Every piece is cut to your measurements, so a few minutes with a tape measure is all we need. It is easiest with a friend helping.
Before You Start
- Use a soft tailor's tape measure.
- Wear a thin top, or the layer you would usually wear underneath.
- Stand relaxed, feet together, arms at your sides, and breathe normally.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight: you should be able to slip one finger under it.
- Centimetres are best, but inches are fine.
Your Measurements
1. Chest
Around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulder blades. Keep the tape level.
2. Waist
Around your natural waist, the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button.
3. Hips
Around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with your feet together.
4. Shoulder width
Across your back, from the tip of one shoulder bone to the other, following the curve of your back.
5. Sleeve length
From the tip of your shoulder, over a slightly bent elbow, down to your wrist bone.
6. Back length
From the bone at the base of your neck, straight down to where you would like the piece to end.
7. Neck
Around the base of your neck, where a collar sits. Keep one finger under the tape for comfort.
8. Height
Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the floor to the top of your head.
Or Measure a Piece You Love
If you have a jacket that fits you well, lay it flat and fasten it. Measure across the chest from armpit to armpit, from the collar seam down to the hem, and from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. Send these along with your body measurements.
Two Photos Help
